LSU’s run at the SEC Tournament in Tampa is off to a great start. In its opening matchup in the second round on Thursday against Missouri, coach Will Wade’s squad took a 34-9 first-half lead before cooling off a bit in what was ultimately a 76-68 win.
The Tigers’ reward? Round 3 against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Eric Musselman’s team had the double-bye by virtue of its No. 4 seed, and Arkansas will look for its third win of the year against LSU after it took the two contests during the regular season. The most recent of the two came in Fayetteville just over a week ago.
The Tigers will hope their run in Tampa continues into the weekend, but they’ll have to get past a Razorbacks squad that is peaking at the right time and is poised to be one of the nation’s most potent teams in the NCAA Tournament.
