This one will go over real well.
According to a report by Aaron Wilson at Pro Football Network, the Seahawks are interested in Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson and are expected to explore trade scenarios with Houston.
“The Seahawks are interested in Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. Seattle is expected to explore trade scenarios for the three-time Pro Bowl passer, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.”
An exceptional talent at his position, Watson would be one of the rare upgrades at quarterback compared to Russell Wilson, who’s being traded to the Broncos.
However, Watson would come with some incredibly problematic baggage that might cause extreme damage to a large portion of the fanbase. He did not play this past season as he’s under investigation for a series of sexual misconduct accusations. He has more than 20 accusers and the grand jury will hear evidence in his case on Friday.
Update:
Corbin Smith at Sports Illustrated is corroborating Wilson’s report about Seattle’s interest in Watson.
