The 11th-seeded Georgetown Hoyas (6-24) and No. 6 Seton Hall Pirates (20-9) tussle in a Wednesday Big East Tournament game at Madison Square Garden in New York. The first-round battle is slated for a 9:30 p.m. ET tip-off (FS1). Below, we look at the Georgetown vs. Seton Hall odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.
Georgetown went 0-19 in Big East regular-season play. The Hoyas have not won a game since defeating Howard Dec. 15. Since that mid-December victory, Georgetown is 0-20 and has been outscored by an average of 12.1 points a game.
Seton Hall is responsible for two of those 19 league losses for Georgetown. The Pirates won at the Hoyas 70-63 Feb. 1 and claimed a 73-68 home win March 2. In Big East play, the Pirates went 11-8 in earning their No. 6 seed. They enter the tournament on a five-game winning streak. Over the five wins, Seton Hall has outrebounded opponents by a wide gulf (35.8 to 30.8 per game), while holding them to a 39.4% mark from the field.

Georgetown vs. Seton Hall odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
Seton Hall 83, Georgetown 69
Money line
PASS. Seton Hall (-650) will cost 6.5 times the potential profit, and betting Georgetown (+360) is just throwing away money.
Against the spread
The cautionary note for Seton Hall bettors is the most recent meeting between the two teams. It was two games back for each squad as the Pirates failed to cover as 12.5-point favorites in their 73-68 home win.
In that game, Seton Hall, which forced 14 turnovers each of the two games prior and 14 again the following game, forced Georgetown into just 8 miscues. Plus, an SHU five, which has shot well from distance of late (37.2% since Jan. 24), went just 4-for-20 from beyond the arc. Even so, the Pirates led that game by 7-to-9 points for most of the last 12 minutes.
Figure on senior-laden Seton Hall putting youthful Georgetown out of its misery in this one … and by a four-possession margin, not two.
BACK THE PIRATES -9.5 (-122).
Over/Under
Two quicker-than-average paces. Two offenses with likable late-season trend lines. Two Unders during the regular season, and both can be picked at as outliers.
TAKE OVER 144.5 (-112).
