The Brooklyn Nets (32-33) will be on the road Tuesday night, attempting to snap their current four-game losing streak. They’ll visit the Charlotte Hornets (32-33), winners of their last two games, in a 7 p.m. ET game from the Spectrum Center. Below, we look at the Nets vs. Hornets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.
The Nets have not fared well since trading G James Harden, going 1-5 since the All-Star break. They’ve only been favored in one of their last six games, which they lost to the Heat, 113-107 on March 3. They’ve slipped to 12th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 110.8 points per game and giving up the ninth-most (111.8 per game).
The Hornets have kept their playoff hopes alive by winning their last two games, beating the Spurs and Cavaliers in the last week. They’re still only 4-6 in their last 10 games, and have one of the worst defenses in the league at 114.6 points per game with a field goal percentage allowed of 46.2% – 20th in the NBA.

Nets at Hornets odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
Hornets 114, Nets 110
Money line
PG Kyrie Irving is available tonight, which would seem to give the Nets an edge. However, they’ve won just one of his last 10 starts dating back to late-January. The series between the Nets and Hornets has mostly been back and forth over the last two-plus years, with the Nets going 6-4, but Charlotte won the most recent meeting in October.
I like the HORNETS (+135) to win outright at home tonight against a Nets team that looks out of sorts, particularly on the offensive side.

Against the spread
As underdogs of 3-4.5 points this season, the Hornets are an impressive 5-1-1 ATS, whereas the Nets are just 3-6 when favored by 3-4.5 points. The Hornets are also 6-1-1 ATS on 2 days rest, with their last game coming on Saturday.
I really like the HORNETS +3.5 (-105) to cover the spread against Brooklyn.
Over/Under
When the Hornets are at home this season, the Under is 16-14-1. Their defense isn’t playing well, but the Nets also arent scoring at a very high clip offensively.
The total is set higher at 239.5 points, and I don’t think it’ll reach that number tonight. Bet the UNDER 239.5 (-110).
