Three former University of Tennessee basketball players competed in the NBA Saturday. Another did not play due to a coach’s decision and one other was inactive.
In Minnesota, rookie Keon Johnson started for Portland in its 135-121 loss to the Timberwolves at Target Center.
Johnson played 29 minutes. He had 15 points, five assists, two rebounds and one steal.
Johnson was 5-for-9 from the floor and 3-for-5 from beyond the 3-point arc. He was 2-for-3 from the free throw line.
In Memphis, the Grizzlies defeated Orlando, 124-96, at FedEx Forum.
Admiral Schofield played nine minutes for the Magic and scored four points.
Yves Pons was inactive for the Grizzlies.
In Miami, Philadelphia lost to the Heat, 99-82, at FTX Arena.
Tobias Harris started at forward for the 76ers and played 37 minutes. He had 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one block.
Josh Richardson did not play due to a coach’s decision in San Antonio’s, 123-117, loss at Charlotte.
