5 reasons why the Bears should target Amari Cooper

The Bears are in the market for a playmaking receiver. If Amari Cooper becomes available, they should definitely pursue him.

The Chicago Bears are in the market for a playmaking wide receiver, and there are no shortage of options heading into free agency. But now, an intriguing name may be entering the fray.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to “likely” to release Cooper at the start of the new league year. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added that Dallas will try to trade Cooper first. If there are no takers, they’ll move on from Cooper.

Naturally, Chicago has been dubbed a potential landing spot for Cooper as they’re in need of wide receiver help for quarterback Justin Fields.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles indicated he’s more a proponent for the second and third wave of free agency, where he’ll acquire some more affordable players to fill some roster holes. But that also doesn’t mean he won’t consider making a big move like this, especially if he believes it helps make the Bears better.
