The new-look version of the Philadelphia 76ers has gotten off to a very good start in the James Harden era. The Beard and Joel Embiid have played well off each other, and they look to be every bit the formidable tandem fans envisioned.
The Sixers picked up two wins on the road, knocking off the Minnesota Timberwolves and then the New York Knicks. Both Harden and Embiid have been very tough to stop in both games, and the Sixers are feeling good about themselves.
As they head into a new week during which Harden will make his home debut (Wednesday), the new power rankings from ESPN have the Sixers as a top 5 team in the league.
ESPN has the Sixers ranked fifth in the rankings:
It’s been a dream start for James Harden and Joel Embiid. Yes, the 76ers have had a couple of good opponents to start off with in Minnesota and New York. But that doesn’t diminish how smoothly the two superstars have fit — as Embiid expects, after saying so several times. One thing seems certain: With two of the league’s best foul-drawers on the same team, 76ers games are going to be long.
The Sixers are looking to continue developing into the desired championship contender over the final 22 games.
