Florida State senior Amelia Williamson took full advantage of local knowledge at the Seminoles’ home event this weekend, earning her first college victory at the Florida State Match-Up.

Williamson, of England, finished 54 holes at the Florida State Legacy Golf Club with a 7-under 209 total. She was under par every day and ended the week with a six-shot edge over runner-up Hsin-Yu Lu of Oregon. Williamson finished runner-up at this event a year ago, which, until this week, was her best finish in college (along with a runner-up at the 2021 NCAA Louisville Regional).

Williamson, Florida State’s leading scorer this season, started her spring with a top-10 finish at the Moon Golf Invitational. The Match-Up title was her fourth top-10 finish in five tournaments this season. She led the field in birdies and par-3 scoring (she was 2 under on the short holes) on her way to victory at Seminole Legacy Club.

She’s ranked No. 18 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
