All eyes are on both the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets after the teams made a huge trade on Feb. 10 which sent future Hall of Famer James Harden to the Sixers and Ben Simmons to the Nets. The deal ended the long Simmons saga in Philadelphia as both sides could start anew.
While Harden has already played for Philadelphia, and he started his Sixers career off with a bang, Simmons still has yet to play for Brooklyn. The Nets say that he’s ramping up everything and he will just need time, but a report from Shams Charania said that Simmons is dealing with back soreness and there is no timetable for his return.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski then reported that Simmons is unlikely to make his debut in the team’s highly anticipated March 10 matchup with the Sixers in Philadelphia. The Nets do not want him making his debut in what promises to be a hostile environment for Brooklyn.
“One thing I am confident with, that won’t be his first game.
They are not going to allow Ben Simmons to make his debut there”–@wojespn on @espn on Nets and Ben Simmons March 10 in Philly

All eyes will continue to be on Simmons as he continues a new chapter in his career, but it is peculiar that the talk about Simmons and his season debut continues to be centered on the matchup with the Sixers in Philadelphia in March.
