Report: Nets to sign veteran guard Goran Dragic from buyout market

The Brooklyn Nets will sign veteran guard Goran Dragic from the buyout market.

The All-Star break is over and for the Brooklyn Nets, the goal is to now get themselves together and prepare for the playoffs.

They swung their big deal at the deadline when they sent James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and Andre Drummond, and now it is time to add to their depth and prepare for what they hope will be a deep run into the playoffs.

Needing another ball-handler, the team will sign 13-year veteran guard Goran Dragic to a deal. Dragic spent the previous 6.5 seasons with the Miami Heat before being sent to the Toronto Raptors and he only played in five games for Toronto. He has career averages of 13.9 points and 4.8 assists and he was named an All-Star for the Heat in 2018.

Dragic, of course, played with coach Steve Nash when they were both a member of the Phoenix Suns. He also has NBA finals experience with the Heat in 2020 although he only played in two of the six games due to injury.
