Tobias Harris explains offensive success, aggression as Sixers beat Bucks

Tobias Harris explains his offensive success and aggression as the Philadelphia 76ers were able to knock off the Milwaukee Bucks on the road.

MILWAUKEE, WI–The Philadelphia 76ers had themselves a rough go at it on Tuesday as they were blown out by 48 points in a loss at home so everybody had a rough game.

However, once again, the spotlight was on Tobias Harris. The team’s highest-paid player only took seven shots and he scored six points in the loss, and coach Doc Rivers acknowledged after the game that they need to get Harris going in order to have success on the floor.

Harris bounced back in a big way on Thursday as he scored 19 points with eight rebounds to help the Sixers knock off the Milwaukee Bucks on the road 123-120. Harris had 10 points on nine shots in the first quarter alone as that surpassed anything he was able to come up with on Tuesday.

“It was just the flow of the game,” explained Harris. “The ball moving around and playing with pace ad we’re creating different actions to get downhill. That’s just the flow of it, how it goes. I had the same mindset and approach in this game that I do in pretty much every game that I go into.”

The Boston Celtics really disrupted anything the Sixers tried to do on the offensive end on Tuesday and that included trying to get Harris going. On Thursday, the Sixers were able to get Harris in his spots and get him into a bit of a flow on the offensive end.

“The Boston game, they were kinda really loading up and zoning up a lot of our offense and we just played too slow,” he added. “Coming out, we were able to get more stops and run. We had more pace to what we were doing, we had a good shootaround where we looked at a lot of other different areas where we can move the ball and create different actions and more body movement.”

Harris has long been an advocate for playing at a faster pace. When the Sixers are able to get into that rhythm and they’re able to push the ball and get the ball moving, that is when he is able to have a ton of success.

“We did a good job of not being stagnant out there early on and that just led to those shots coming and getting them in the flow and how we were playing,” he finished. “I’ve said that for the longest. It’s a huge reason to my success and our success as a whole group when we’re able to be efficient out there and get those good looks.”
