It was a big day for the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday as they made a huge blockbuster deal that sent Ben Simmons to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for superstar guard James Harden. The deal now vaults them back into the conversation for the Eastern Conference title.
Thursday also marked the night where it was time for the All-Star draft where LeBron James and Kevin Durant picked their teams for the Feb. 20 All-Star game in Cleveland.
James had the first pick and he selected Giannis Antetokounmpo while Durant went with Joel Embiid with the second pick. Embiid is leading the league in scoring at 29.4 points per game and he will look to lead the team with Durant out for the game with his injury.
Joel Embiid is the 2nd pick of the 2022 All-Star draft for Team Durant #Sixers

Harden, who was selected as a reserve from his time with the Nets, was the very last pick of the All-Star draft. Durant, a former teammate of Harden’s, looked like he was being a bit petty about the whole Harden trade saga and he picked Rudy Gobert over Harden. That made him the final pick of the draft and he will be on Team LeBron.
Lmao! Kevin Durant picked Rudy Gobert over James Harden. That makes Harden the last pick of the All-Star draft and he will be selected by Team LeBron. #Sixers
