The Los Angeles Lakers managed a 21-point comeback against the New York Knicks on Saturday, but Russell Westbrook was flamed for his performance.
After the Lakers started badly, the pressure to chip away at the lead increased. But after Westbrook yet again missed a bank shot badly, the home crowd in L.A. booed the former MVP.
Westbrook finished with five points on 1-of-10 shooting overall. He went 3-of-7 from the charity stripe and missed two attempts late in the game that kept the door open for a Knicks comeback, which they did to force overtime.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel benched Westbrook for overtime, and NBA Twitter voiced their displeasure with his play, including wanting him gone from the team:
