The Tennessee Titans are reportedly in talks with former Houston Texans offensive coordinator, Tim Kelly, and are hoping to hire him to their offensive staff.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, nothing has been finalized yet, but the plan is to hire Kelly in some capacity, although it’s still unclear exactly what role he would have.
Kelly already has connections to the Titans. Not only did his brother Dennis play for the Titans, but he also worked with head coach Mike Vrabel when both were with the Houston Texans.
Kelly was first hired by the Texans in 2014, serving as an offensive quality control coach. In his eight years in Houston, Kelly managed to work his way up to offensive coordinator before being let go after the 2021 campaign.
Titans fans will immediately hope that the job Kelly is taking is the offensive coordinator role after what was a messy first year on the job in Nashville for Todd Downing. However, chances are Kelly will just be an added voice to the room, much like Jim Schwartz was on the defensive side in 2021.
