The state of Texas is always loaded with some of the nation’s top high school talent. It has Power Five programs from all over the nation trying to poach the best from the Lone Star State.
Many schools in the state like the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, and TCU among others fight with each other to attempt to keep these players in the state. It is a tall task these days especially with the new tempting NIL deals that are found at every school.
It is no secret that Texas is fruitful, it always has been, and that remains true with this 2022 class. It features six players ranked in the nation’s top 25, with two of them being in the top six.
The Longhorns are a program who has put an emphasis on attempting to keep the state’s top talent from leaving. A rough start to Steve Sarkisian’s first year may have hurt their chances with a few of these particular players, but there are always other factors as to why recruits choose to go elsewhere.
