Celtics’ Jayson Tatum reportedly planning to work out with Memphis coach Penny Hardaway in offseason

The St. Louis native will link up with the Memphis head coach to work on his game this offseason according to reports.

According to WMC Action News 5’s Cassie Carlson, Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum may be a little easier to find in the state of Tennessee this coming offseason than he usually is thanks to plans between himself and a certain famed Orlando Magic alumnus who happens to be the current head coach of the University of Memphis Tigers Men’s Basketball Program.

Carlson, the host of the Penny Hardaway Show, shared on Twitter Monday that Hardaway is reportedly planning on hosting the St. Louis native in Memphis to train this offseason, something Tatum has done previously with the four-time NBA All-Star in the offseason after his rookie campaign in the summer of 2018.

While no word on Tatum about the planned meet-up between himself and the three-time All-NBA wing, one has to imagine that getting in work with a player who held career averages of 15.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists across 704 games certainly can’t hurt the Duke product’s ongoing development.

Particularly as a player who thrived next to a defense-warping big man as Tatum is beginning to explore alongside Robert Williams III.
