It took a major comeback in the fourth quarter, and there were plays made by the likes of Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. to help the Rams beat the 49ers, but the play that punched their ticket to the Super Bowl came with 1:19 left in the game.
Aaron Donald pressured Jimmy Garoppolo up the middle and the 49ers quarterback desperately flung the ball forward, hoping for one last prayer on third down. It wasn’t answered, as Travin Howard stepped in to intercept the errant pass, sealing the victory for Los Angeles.
All that was left to do was for the Rams to kneel it three times to let the clock run out, clinching the win in the NFC title game.
