Based on where Colorado’s program is at right now, most Buffs fans aren’t eagerly waiting for the latest power ranking or poll to be released. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look at all. It will just make the day Colorado returns to relevance that much sweeter.
As the Georgia Bulldogs likely continue their well-deserved celebrations, USA TODAY Sports dropped its final college football re-rank of the 2021 season. All 130 FBS programs were included and the 4-8 Colorado Buffaloes sat woefully at No. 95, a one-spot decrease from the previous re-rank that followed conference championship games.
I’d rather be comparing Colorado’s number to teams above it, but the Buffs were still far from the Pac-12’s worst. Washington (No. 100), Stanford (No. 101) and Arizona (No. 124) rounded out the Pac-12 in a difficult season for the confernce. The Utes, who came up just short in the Rose Bowl, led the Pac-12 at No. 13.
Needless to say, Colorado and the Pac-12 have plenty of work this offseason.
