Jerome Boger will be the referee for Saturday’s Wild Card Playoff between the Cincinnati Bengals and Las Vegas Raiders. And if you’re a believer in history with certain referees in games, then you might not be 100 percent excited about this draw.
Home teams went an even 8-8 this season in games refereed by Boger in 2021 and the Raiders actually have the better recent history with Boger. Since 2008, the Raiders are 9-5 in games with Boger as referee while the Bengals are just 5-8.
Boger is in his 18th season as an official and 16th as a referee. Saturday’s game will be Boger’s seventh playoff assignment and his second Wild Card Playoff. He has also worked four Divisional Playoff games and was the referee for Super Bowl XLVII between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
The Raiders-Bengals wild-card game draws referee Jerome Boger and an all-star crew. Home teams went 8-8 with Boger in 2021. Since 2008, the Raiders are 9-5 with Boger, the Bengals 5-8.
