The fallout from the firings of former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman could continue in the form of a possible exit for offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Carolina Panthers plan on speaking with Kubiak about their job opening for an offensive coordinator.
Kubiak, who has been with the Vikings for the last three seasons, might feel like he’s already on the outs with Zimmer no longer running the show. The new head coach will eventually come into the fold and look to run the team in a way that fits that person’s vision.
And Kubiak has been around long enough to know that he might not be a part of it.
There wouldn’t be a shortage of weapons for Kubiak to work with in Carolina with Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson on the roster.
It isn’t quite Minnesota, but it’s as good as it’s going to get for a young offensive coordinator that could be on the verge of making his grand exit.
