Another day, another prospect that Texas has missed out on in the transfer portal.
The Longhorns have been making major efforts to add depth via the transfer portal, and while they have brought in one of the top transfers this offseason in quarterback Quinn Ewers, they are looking to add experienced players at wide receiver and on the defensive side of the ball.
After being in the mix for Wyoming wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, the Longhorns eventually lost out on him to Tennessee. Just two days later, they swung and missed in the portal again.
Central Michigan safety Devonni Reed, who was a productive four-year starter for the Chippewas, announced his commitment to South Carolina on Monday over Texas, Missouri, and Wisconsin among others.

Reed finished his career at Central Michigan with 281 tackles, 11 pass break ups, and three interceptions.
He would have been a great addition to a Texas defensive back room who lost majority of its starters after this past season.
Steve Sarkisian and his staff will either have to look through the portal again, or rely on the young talent coming onto campus.
