The Monday after the final games of the NFL season is always a rough one for a number of coaches who get fired from their jobs. This morning we’ve already seen the Bears can Matt Nagy (and GM Ryan Pace) and the Vikings fire Mike Zimmer (and GM Rick Spielman).
Those moves were not much of a surprise at all.
There was one surprise later in the morning though – the Dolphins fired head coach Brian Flores after three seasons. Flores went 10-6 last year and finished 9-8 this year after starting the season 1-7. They closed things out at home yesterday with their second win of the year over Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
It seemed like Flores would be safe considering those results but that didn’t prove to be true:
Brian Flores is out as the Dolphins head coach, sources tell ESPN.
