J.J. Watt remains on IR; Cardinals elevate 2 players from practice squad

The Cardinals elevated TE David Wells and LB Tahir Whitehead for Week 18.

The Arizona Cardinals announced a pair of roster moves on Saturday leading up to their Sunday afternoon game in Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks. However, one of those roster moves was not activating defensive lineman J.J. Watt.

That wasn’t a likely move anyway, considering he was designated to return only on Friday.

The two moves they made were a pair of standard elevations from the practice squad. They elevated tight end David Wells and linebacker Tahir Whitehead.

The move to elevate Wells suggests that Demetrius Harris, questionable for the game with a shoulder injury, is unlikely to be able to play.

Whitehead will likely be needed on special teams with Tanner Vallejo currently on the COVID list.
