Rookie center Josh Myers is officially back, and the defense will get help from two practice squad elevations on Sunday in Detroit.
The Green Bay Packers activated Myers from injured reserve and elevated defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson and outside linebacker Ladarius Hamilton from the practice squad on Saturday.
Myers is back after missing 10 games with a knee injury. He was placed on the injury report but has no game status designation, meaning he’ll be available to play, as coach Matt LaFleur indicated on Friday.
It’s unclear if Myers will start. Lucas Patrick has handled all snaps at center since Myers’ injury in Week 6. The Packers picked Myers in the second round and immediately installed him as the starting center, replacing All-Pro Corey Linsley. He started five of the first six games.
Anderson is being elevated for the third time. He played 18 snaps on defense in Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens and 16 snaps against the Minnesota Vikings last week. He will provide depth along the defensive line, especially with Kingsley Keke out, and possibly allow the Packers to get Kenny Clark out of the game early.
Hamilton will also make his third appearance for the Packers this season. He previously played snaps against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5 and Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. Expect him to play on special teams and pitch in as a backup behind starters Preston Smith and Rashan Gary.
The Packers and Lions kick off in Detroit at noon on Sunday.
