Perhaps no one on Notre Dame’s defense this past season was more devastating than Isaiah Foskey. The defensive lineman led the Irish in both sacks (10) and tackles for loss (9.5). Now, we’ll get to see what he can do under a defensive-minded head coach in Marcus Freeman. That’s because Foskey tweeted news that every Irish fan should be happy to hear:

Between this and landing All-American safety Brandon Joseph from the transfer portal, this already has been a red-letter day for the Irish defense. Interestingly, it comes on the one-year anniversary of Freeman being named the Irish’s defensive coordinator. Perhaps we should pay special attention to the Irish every Jan. 8 as long as Freeman is in South Bend. Only good things seem to happen.
Once again, college football experts will have no choice but to give the Irish’s defense the respect it’s had for the past few years. Even though the 2021 season hasn’t ended, who’s already pumped for 2022? If you aren’t, why not?
