Former Texas quarterback Casey Thompson has found a new home.
Thompson announced his commitment to Nebraska via Instagram on Friday. The former Longhorn led the Big 12 in touchdowns last season, but was unable to take full control of the starting role after injuring his thumb against Oklahoma on Oct. 9.
Shortly after Texas landed quarterback prodigy Quinn Ewers this offseason, Thompson entered the transfer portal to search for a new program that would provide immediate playing time.
His father, Charles Thompson, mentioned the top programs in the running for Casey earlier this week. Nebraska, Auburn, Oklahoma, Indiana and Missouri were each considered contenders for his services. However, the Cornhuskers offered the clearest path for Thompson to become the starter.
