Report: Gators in contact with ULL lineman in transfer portal

Could Billy Napier bring one of his former players to Gainesville?

Offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence played for Billy Napier at Lousiana, so it makes sense for Florida to be in the race for one of the most highly-coveted linemen left in the transfer portal. Gators Online confirmed that Torrence has been in contact with Napier and his staff and that he is planning a visit to Gainesville.

Florida is far from the only Power Five team pursuing Torrence. He’s already reported offers from Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss and Michigan State. The Louisiana native is planning on taking a trip LSU after he finishes up at Auburn. Florida is the only other program Torrence has verbally committed to visiting, and his travels could come to an end after that.

Napier has brought several members of the Louisiana staff over to Florida, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see some of his former players make their way over as well. Torrence has proved himself as an elite lineman at the Group of Five level, and he can help the offense learn Napier’s system.

247Sports has Torrence rated as a four-star transfer recruit, which is a step-up from his three-star rating as a high-schooler. He’s also the 20th-best player left in the portal, according to the site’s tracker.
