Titans’ Elijah Molden has been among NFL’s best CBs since Week 3

Numbers don’t lie: Titans CB Elijah Molden has been great since Week 3.

Tennessee Titans 2021 third-round pick and rookie cornerback Elijah Molden got off to a slow start this season, but since Week 3 he has been among the league’s better players at his position.

No Flags Film (@NoFlagsFilm on Twitter) compiled Molden’s rankings in a bunch of key stats from Week 3 through 17, and they show just how good the rookie has been this season.

Molden ranks no worse than No. 32 out of 131 qualifying cornerbacks in any of the statistical categories, and as high as No. 3 in one of them. He’s also top 25 or better in five others, and is ranked No. 1 among rookies in every stat but one.

In what has been a disappointing, injury-plagued year as a whole for the Titans’ most recent draft class, Molden has been the outlier.

Not only has he played well in a key role for most of the season, but Molden has been available, playing in 15 games, tops among Titans 2021 draft picks.

With Molden and Kristian Fulton both looking like the real deal, if the Titans can get a similar Year 2 turnaround from Caleb Farley that they got from the LSU product, this young secondary will be primed to be very good for years to come.
