Now that Michigan football’s incredible 2021 season is over, naturally, there are bound to be some losses. From Anthony Solomon transferring to Arizona, to Darion Green-Warren entering the transfer portal. Assuredly, players seeking opportunities for playing time are going to find a different program, and it appears that another has joined the list.
George Johnson was a former quarterback out of Stuart (Fla.) Martin County who had oscillated between receiver and defensive back since arriving in Ann Arbor. He started getting accolades this offseason for being the most difficult corner that Ronnie Bell had to go up against in fall camp.
“You never know what you’re gonna get out of George,” Bell said. “George is a very unpredictable and very good DB.
“His technique, how he plays the game, he doesn’t necessarily do it like the rest — he doesn’t play like the rest of them. So it’s either misleading or it’s — he can catch you off-guard because he’s unorthodox.”
However, he announced on Twitter that he’ll be looking for a new program to participate in.

Johnson played a total of 26 snaps in his Michigan career, all in 2021, according to PFF. It appeared in the videos released by the Capital One Orange Bowl that he was being tried out at wide receiver in bowl prep, so it will be interesting to see what position he plays at his new school of choice.
