The 49ers beat the Texans on Sunday, but didn’t clinch a playoff spot because of a Saints win over the Panthers. That makes their Week 18 game against the Rams a crucial one, which makes it all the more important that they appeared to exit their Week 17 bout without any major injuries.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan immediately after the game told reporters the only two injury issues during the game were with left tackle Trent Williams and linebacker Marcell Harris.

Williams briefly left the game with an elbow sprain, and Harris was evaluated for a stinger. Both players were able to return.

This doesn’t mean the 49ers are out of the woods yet. Injuries can crop up in the hours after the game. Shanahan will provide updates to media in a conference call Monday.

However, the initial reports are positive that the 49ers will go into a must-win Week 18 matchup with their health relatively intact.
