Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow won a litany of awards and weekly honors for his franchise-record 525 passing yards and four touchdowns during last week’s win over the Baltimore Ravens.
None were more important than the Nickelodeon Valuable Player Award, though.
Burrow, a well-known SpongeBob SquarePants fan (he even wore a Krusty Krab shirt in the postgame passer after throwing for 525 yards), finally got to meet his favorite character at Paul Brown Stadium this week.
There, Burrow received the trophy — and some slime — from SpongeBob himself, with an assist from tight end C.J. Uzomah.
The funniest quote from the viral clip says it all: “Am I gonna get slimed or what?”
Indeed:
SpongeBob came to Cincinnati to surprise his biggest fan at work. Congrats to the NVP, @JoeyB! đź‘Ź pic.twitter.com/iikqYKCpqf

We all hope to find someone who looks at us the way @JoeyB looks at @SpongeBob. 🧡 pic.twitter.com/z0m5il5CgF
