Rockets’ Kevin Porter Jr. calls LeBron James the best player in the world

Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. had high praise for Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James after the two faced off.

LeBron James once again led the Los Angeles Lakers in the scoring column, dropping 32 points to defeat the Houston Rockets.

James has five 30-point games in a row, and 11 in his last 15 games. It’s been an incredible stretch for James, who has had to carry the load for the Lakers with so many key rotation players out, most notably Anthony Davis.

LeBron, who is in his 19th season in the NBA, took the court against one of the younger teams in the league. Jalen Green, the 2021 No. 2 pick, for example, is 19 years old.

Kevin Porter Jr., a 21-year-old guard with promising potential, dropped 22 points in the loss, but he had high praise for James after the game, via Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic:

With the way James is playing, he definitely deserves to be in the running for the MVP award this season. Working against him though is the Lakers’ record (17-18), which hurts when compared to Stephen Curry’s MVP bid while leading the Golden State Warriors.
