New Florida coach Billy Napier continues to try to build a transition class, and after earning signing day victories over rival Georgia for the services of five-star safety Kamari Wilson and four-star linebacker Shemar James, he will try to steal another player from the Bulldogs.
The Gators have reportedly made contact with Jordan James, a four-star running back from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. James, who stands at 5-foot-10-inches and 205 pounds, is the No. 188 player in the 2022 class and the No. 16 running back, according to the 247Sports Composite.
James was offered by Florida last January, but he committed to the Bulldogs in March and has held firm on that pledge. However, he didn’t sign with UGA during the early signing period, and he’s only taken one official visit, which was to Athens. Per 247Sports, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of using the remainder of his five official visits.
He hasn’t visited Gainesville despite being offered by the previous staff, and if the Gators can get him to campus, they may have a chance to pull off a key flip at a position of need in the 2022 class, as UF has no signed or committed running backs.
