Boston Celtics second-year point guard Payton Pritchard continued to make a strong case for a bigger role with the team than he has had thus far with the Celtics this season after another outstanding performance in Boston’s 117 – 113 road loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day.
Against the reigning NBA champions, Pritchard put up an impressive 16 points, 5 rebounds, as many assists, a steal, and a block off of the bench in 30 minutes of playing time, providing a much-needed spark from the reserves for the Celtics that was nearly enough to get Boston a win.
That the Oregon product managed to do it while shooting 6-of-14 from the field and 4-of-8 from 3-point range clamors for head coach Ime Udoka to keep the sharpshooting sophomore on the floor for a similarly-sized role moving forward.
