Josh Heupel guided Tennessee to a 7-5 (4-4 SEC) record in his first regular season as Tennessee’s head coach.
Heupel implemented his offense with variations from the veer and shoot, run and shoot and Air Raid.

In the contest, Tennessee executed a run and shoot play during the first quarter.
Quarterback Hendon Hooker performed a half-roll to his right and connected with wide receiver JaVonta Payton for a 39-yard touchdown.
Tennessee lined up in 11-personnel with three wide receivers to the field side. Payton served as a slot wide receiver and ran a fade, while the X-receiver ran a hitch and the other field side player went inside.

The play is similar to what the Conquerors and offensive coordinator AJ Smith executed against the Linemen and head coach Hal Mumme in the Spring League.

The contest will take place Dec. 30 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. EST and ESPN will televise the matchup.
