The Boston Celtics need shooting and energetic play, and while he may not be showing what he had going on at the end of the 2020-21 NBA season due to inconsistent playing time with the Celtics this season, second-year forward Aaron Nesmith has shown flashes of being able to fill such a role if he is given the opportunity to do so.
The South Carolina native shot 37% from 3 last season, but in a reduced role has regressed to just 22.6%, and always beings intensity on the other end of the court no matter if he’s in rhythm on offense or not. Could Boston simply solve its shooting woes with a little trust and patience?
There’s also the issue of developing draft picks into playable trade options if not better, which has not been happening with any of the team’s younger players.
We aren’t suggesting they move Nesmith, but it’s hard to interest opposing teams in major deals with prospects who never see the court.
Watch the clip embedded above to hear what the team ought to do as we head into the thick of the holiday season.
