Vikings WR Adam Thielen missed all of Week 14 after going down with an ankle injury against the Lions in Week 13.
In Week 15, Thielen’s playing status is still up in the air. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Minnesota plans to test out Adam Thielen’s ankle pregame. There is still a chance he plays tonight, though it is yet not determined.
If the team doesn’t have Thielen, the Vikings will have to give a lot of the workload in the passing game to WR Justin Jefferson. Jefferson at least has the benefit of facing a depleted Bears defense. Chicago placed its best CB, Jaylon Johnson, on the COVID-19/Reserve list Sunday.
Jefferson is the definitive No. 1 and after that WRs K.J. Osborn, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Myron Mitchell can fill out as depth if Thielen can’t play. Osborn had 83 receiving yards and a touchdown reception in the Week 14 game when Thielen was out.
Thielen is questionable, which is bad news, but at least the Vikings did not have OT Christian Darrisaw or RB Dalvin Cook on the injury report, which means both are expected to play on Monday night. The only other player the Vikings listed on the injury report was Bashaud Breeland, the corner the team waived on Saturday.
