On what was beginning to feel like the slowest news day that the Oregon Ducks fanbase has seen in almost a month, a spark was ignited on Sunday afternoon in Eugene.
Former Auburn Tigers quarterback Bo Nix announced via social media that he would be transferring to the Ducks and competing for the starting QB spot next season.
This comes as a pretty massive shock for Duck fans, who largely believed that true freshman QB Ty Thompson was the future at the position after becoming the highest-rated commit at that position in school history. Now it appears that he will have competition from a veteran who has 34 collegiate games under his belt.
So how did Duck fans react to the news? Here’s a quick look:

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is transferring to Oregon per his Instagram. He’ll reunite with Offensive Coordinator Kenny Dillingham

My .02 on the Bo Nix news: it’s a win-win for the Ducks and nothing like AB.
Bo knows Dillingham’s system. Was at best when Dilly was his OC. Provides QB room continuity and mentorship.
He could use a fresh start out of Auburn/Dad’s shadow.
Insurance for QB room.

I covered Bo Nix's recruitment to Auburn and first college game. Now likely his final college season(s). Life is weird.

My single biggest takeaway from this move is that Ty Thompson may not be as game-ready as we hoped or believed… https://t.co/bHD663kWO0
