The Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team now holds a record of 8-3 after last week’s 65-54 victory over the Milwaukee Panthers. The game was another too-close-for-comfort battle as the Buffs’ troubles with inconsistency were on full display.
They managed to put together a strong finish to the game, powered by a huge second half from Jabari Walker. He capped off the win with a big steal at half court followed by a highlight reel slam dunk.
Colorado will look to continue improving its game on Saturday as the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners visit Boulder. The Roadrunners are currently 4-3 after a recent loss to Abilene Christian University.
The Buffs still have a lot to work on, and Saturday’s matchup against CSUB is their last opportunity to improve as a group before their schedule becomes much more difficult.

Colorado’s defense has been the highlight of their play all season long and has kept them in games that could have been much uglier due to their lack of offensive production. They’ve averaged 37.9 rebounds per game this season as a group, and last week they held Milwaukee’s star freshman guard Patrick Baldwin Jr. to just 12 points.
The Buffs really just need to start hitting their shots and continue to clean up their offensive ball movement. All season they have struggled with turnovers on offense and struggled to create good scoring chances. Against Milwaukee, it looked like their passing and ball movement started to improve and they got some quality shots up in the air, but they just couldn’t find the basket.
If they can start getting their shots to fall and play a full 40 minutes of quality basketball, we could see a big breakout from the Buffs on Saturday.
Tipoff for Saturday’s game against the Roadrunners is set for noon MT at the CU Events Center.
