Detroit Pistons at Indiana Pacers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Detroit Pistons at Indiana Pacers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (4-22) travel to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers (12-18). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pistons vs. Pacers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

After a rough start to the season, the Pacers are healthy and finally playing like the team everyone thought they were. While 4-6 over their last 10, Indiana has been 9-7 at home this season.

The Pacers are 15-14-1 against the spread and are 6-4-1 as home favorites. Indiana is 12th in the East and will enter as heavy favorites against the league-worst Pistons.

While No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham has been playing better, that hasn’t translated into wins for Detroit. At just 12-14, they also haven’t been covering at a high rate despite typically being sizeable underdogs.

Pistons at Pacers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 112, Pistons 97

Money line

PASS on the money line.

No regular-season NBA favorite, especially one at -650, is worth betting. Additionally, the Pistons without their best player shouldn’t put up much of a fight.

Against the spread

BET on the PACERS -10.5 (-108) as they should run over the short-handed Pistons.

Rebounding is the real game-changer. The Pistons rank 22nd in defensive rebounding while the Pacers are No. 6 in offensive rebounding rate. Also, the Pistons are one of the worst turnover teams in the league.

Combine the rebounding difference and turnover issues in Detroit, and the Pacers, who have been dominant at home, should run away with this one.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 209.5 (-108) as the Pacers have a great interior defense with C Myles Turner. Turner is leading the league in blocks by a long shot.

He should be able to limit anything the Pistons try to do offensively. The Pistons are also the second-worst shooting team in the NBA, which could make for an ugly game.

Both teams are .500 or worse covering the Over this season as well.
