Ravens WR Rashod Bateman talks about handling fluctuating target share

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman talked about how he handled his fluctuating target share over the last few weeks

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman made a massive impact in the team’s 24-22 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 14, posting career-highs in both receptions and receiving yards.

On Wednesday during his press conference with the Baltimore media, Bateman was asked about how he handled going from one target in Week 14 to eight in Week 15. The receiver mentioned how he stayed focused and was ready for his opportunity.

“You’ve just got to stay focused and be ready. You can’t complain or really dwell on what happened that last game. A lot of things are out of our control, so we’ve just got to stay focused and get ready for the next game. That’s what I was able to do.”

That’s a good attitude to have, especially for a rookie. Some players would have likely gotten frustrated with the lack of playing time and opportunities on offense, but it looks like the Ravens drafted a special player. Bateman’s confidence should be very high coming off of his seven reception game and he could put up even more big numbers moving forward.
