7 players listed on the Dolphins’ first injury report after their bye week

Only six of the players actually had an injury or illness.

As the Miami Dolphins are gearing up for their first game after their bye week against the New York Jets, the team held a full practice on Wednesday.

After practice, the Dolphins announced seven players were listed on their injury report, however, one of them was wide receiver DeVante Parker who was given a veteran rest day.

Parker joined tight end Hunter Long (illness) as the only two players who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice at all.

Two others were listed as limited, including safety Brandon Jones (ankle/elbow) and tight end Adam Shaheen (knee). Both players had been dealing with these injuries before the bye week, as they missed the two games prior.

Center Michael Deiter (quad/foot), tight end Cethan Carter (thumb), and cornerback Trill Williams (hamstring) were all full participants on Wednesday. Deiter and Carter’s injuries are new, but Deiter had been seen in a walking boot last week, so his appearance on the injury report is not surprising.

It’s important to note that none of the players on the reserve/COVID list would have to be given an injury designation, so it’s not clear whether or not any of those four players are still dealing with other ailments.
