The Oklahoma Sooners have long been known for their ability to produce strong offensive lines and to put players into the NFL. And not just in recent years either. Their recruitment and development of offensive linemen goes back a decade or more.
And NFL teams are reaping the rewards.
Drafted 11 years apart, former Oklahoma Sooners Trent Williams and Creed Humphrey have been two of the best offensive linemen in the NFL in 2021. According to Pro Football Focus, they’ve graded out as the top offensive linemen at their position this season.

At tackle, Trent Williams leads the next highest tackle by more than seven points in the Dallas Cowboys’ Tyron Smith. Since coming into the NFL, Williams has had the two highest graded seasons (2016 and 2021) for an NFL left tackle according to Pro Football Focus.
Williams has allowed just one sack and 15 total pressures on 417 pass-blocking snaps this season. He’s been the backbone of a San Francisco 49ers offensive line that is eighth in the NFL in rushing yards in 2021.
As a rookie, Creed Humprey is Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded center in the NFL. He’s earned the highest grade from PFF since Jason Kelce’s 2017 performance. Humphrey has been a steal for the Kansas City Chiefs after falling to the end of the second round.
Humphrey has allowed just one sack and 10 quarterback pressures this season, helping Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs rejuvenate their offense this season.
