Seahawks remain No. 24 in Touchdown Wire’s Week 15 NFL power rankings

Problem is, this time around there are two legitimate non-Detroit lions between them and the top of the mountain.

The Seahawks didn’t get much of a bump from their 20-point win in Houston. Their chances of making the playoffs are still less than 5% and in Touchdown Wire’s latest NFL power rankings Seattle is slotted at No. 24, the same spot as last week.

QB Russell Wilson had two scoring throws in Seattle’s blowout win on the road against the Texans. RB Rashaad Penny ran for a career-high 137 yards with two touchdowns as well. He scored Seattle’s first and final TDs. One week at a time, but the Seahawks do still have a chance to get above .500 at the end of the year… albeit still a longshot.”

That longshot means running the table the rest of the season and finishing at 9-8. It’s definitely achievable. As coach Pete Carroll reminded us recently, these Seahawks have a history of finishing the year on a strong note.

Problem is, this time around there are two legitimate non-Detroit lions between them and the top of the mountain.

Last night they met on Monday Night Football and the amount of talent flashing on both sides simply looks like too much for this short-handed group to overcome. The Cardinals and Rams are serious Super Bowl contenders and Seattle will have to beat both on the road down the stretch, beginning with LA this week.
