Lakers’ LeBron James named Western Conference Player of the Week

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the Western Conference Player of the Week after a dominant slate of games.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the Western Conference Player of the Week, the NBA announced Monday.

James led the Lakers to a strong week of action that culminated in a 3-1 record. L.A. beat the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder and Orlando Magic. All three were double-digit wins, and two of them happened without Anthony Davis.

The only loss came against the Memphis Grizzlies.

In that four-game span, James posted 28.3 points per game, 8.0 assists and 7.5 rebounds. He achieved those numbers while taking on the responsibility of playing center and handling the ball more because of Davis’ absence.

This marks James’ first Player of the Week award this year. If he continues this level of play, he’ll certainly add more.

Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis represented the Eastern Conference this week.
