The mid-route collision between Jaguars receivers had the Titans’ Kevin Byard laughing at them

The Jaguars are a joke right now.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are an absolute mess.

The hiring of Urban Meyer as head coach was widely criticized when it happened, and in 14 weeks, Meyer has managed to perform worse than expected on the job. From blaming coaches for mistakes to off-the-field dysfunction to weekly embarrassments, there really hasn’t been a moment for Meyer to build on.

And it’s getting so bad for the Jaguars that opposing players are straight-up laughing at them. Just look at Sunday’s 20-0 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

A perfect example of the team’s disorganization came when wide receivers Laviska Shenault Jr. and Laquon Treadwell ran into each other in the middle of a route as the pass fell five yards away from either of them.

It was bad. So bad that Titans safety Kevin Byard admitted that he laughed at the Jaguars receivers following the collision. He said via the Associated Press’ Mark Long:

“I was laughing, to be honest. At the end of the game, guys running into each other. I don’t want to say too much on it, but I was talking trash to them a little bit. It’s tough for them boys over there.”

It’s gotten to the point where opponents see the Jaguars as more of a joke than a legitimate NFL opponent. And that falls on the head coach — as much as he’d like to blame someone else.
