Vikings’ playoff chances after Week 14 win over Steelers

Will the Vikings make the playoffs?

The Vikings held onto their lead in Week 14 against the Steelers and that had a positive effect on the team’s playoff chances.

According to FiveThirtyEight.com, Minnesota now has a 33% chance of making the postseason. That’s up from the 28% chance the team had after the Week 13 loss to the Lions.

The Vikings are an up and down team, so their playoff chances have fluctuated for much of the year. The Packers are not like the Vikings: Green Bay’s playoff chances have mostly held steady due to all of its success.

The Packers have approximately a 99% chance of making the postseason and winning the division, per FiveThirtyEight. Green Bay has the second best chance of winning the Super Bowl at the moment. The only team with a better chance at the moment is the Buccaneers.

Minnesota can increase its playoff chances again with a victory over Chicago. The Vikings, given their expectations this year, are entering into a crucial part of the 2021 slate.
