Rams, Cardinals impacted by COVID protocols in Week 14 matchup

The Cardinals will be missing one of their coaches, while the Rams have two starters and a their No. 3 CB out because of COVID protocols.

The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams kick off tonight at 6:15 p.m. Arizona time at State Farm Stadium for the final game of Week 14. A win by the Cardinals gives them a playoff berth for the first time since 2015 and, while it doesn’t mathematically give them the division title, it would effectively make them NFC West champs.

However, COVID-19 protocols will impact this game.

The Cardinals will be without defensive backs coach Marcus Robertson as he has entered protocols. His duties for the game will be handled by other coaches on the defensive staff.

The Rams are also impacted. They lose starting running back Darrell Henderson, starting right tackle Rob Havenstein and cornerback Dont’e Deayon. All three were placed on the COVID list over the weekend.

Deayon had replaced David Long as the Rams’ third cornerback, so the Rams will be missing two starters on offense and a key contributor on defense.

For the Rams, Sony Michel will replace Henderson at running back. Brian Noteboom likely will start at right tackle and Long will return to the defensive rotation in Deayon’s absence.
