The Denver Broncos have set up a memorial to late wide receiver Demaryius Thomas at the base of their horse sculptures outside the stadium. Fans are encouraged to pay their respects at the memorial before today’s game against the Detroit Lions.
Denver will also honor Thomas with a tribute video on the scoreboard during pregame, and players will wear No. 88 decals on the back of their helmets. The Broncos also placed a No. 88 logo on their sideline.

“There are still 10 players on this team that played with him, and a bunch of coaches that coached him, including Curtis Modkins, who recruited him to Georgia Tech and was one of his college coaches besides being on the staff here in 2018 with him,” Broncos coach Vic Fangio said Friday.
“Weāve got over 40 workers in the organization in the support staff that were around him. Seeing and feeling their reaction and hurt just tells me what a special player DT was. I never had the opportunity to meet him, but special player and special person is obvious by their responses.ā
Thomas, a five-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl 50 champion, will undoubtedly be added to the team’s Ring of Fame.
