Who are the Boston Celtics? A young team that lacks the professionalism to show up on a night-to-night basis, or a team on the cusp of finally making the leap to the matured veterans who belong at the top of the 2021-22 NBA standings?
Plagued by the same sort of uneven play that has marred the experience for fans in recent seasons but without the level of built-in excuses of the past, the Celtics must confront their own reflection while they are still trying to mold themselves into a version of Boston they can be proud of. Youth is still indeed a factor as are new faces, but it has been the same problems with effort and focus behind most recent losses.
